Update 4/20
I am plugging along. I start outpatient rehab this week-kind of excited/terrified of that. My right eye is trying to work again; YEAH!!! Still looking for the issue in my cervical spine (neck), but even it seems to be doing better. My balance has improved so much, but I still get exhausted super easily---have I mentioned WEAR A HELMET!?! And PS: barbed wire and dirt bikes? Not a great combination. Lol.
Update 3/30
How are things going? Did you kill that freaking test yesterday? All ready for tomorrow's? I regret so much not being there for you for the week before your EOC, but you have progressed so much I bet you rocked it!
I am missing you guys like crazy! I am definitely doing better; I am walking by myself now (but stumble around like a toddler, haha), and my head is mostly healed, and my hair is starting to grow back in chunks (I look simply amazing, lol). My eye is starting to try and open, but when it does I see two or three of everything, lol, and my ear seems to be working with only light muffling (they basically had to reattach it😜). The saddest part, next to not being with you, is that I still can't read books! All of this free time and no books! 😢 I am able to focus for short articles now though, so I am starting to dream of which books I will read first. Lol. I am working hard to get back to you; I promise!
Ha! You thought I was just playing hookey, didn't you? You have to know I care about you too much to stay away without a good reason! I am hoping to be up to visiting at least in the next week or so. I LOVE YOU!!!
BTW: WEAR A HELMET! ; )
3/15 So, as you have probably heard, I have recently learned that MotoX does not always end well, LOL. Man, do I miss you guys. My bike is fine, but you should see me right now; I look like Quasimodo, LOL. The whole right side of my head is just a mess. Luckily, I am HARD-HEADED , Lol. I am doing well, healing well, but still looking at a bit of time :( . Having been a sub before, I know how hard it is for students when their teacher is gone for a while. I am so sorry to be gone--it's been such a month for us, hasn't it? Especially I'm sorry to be gone as you prep for the STAAR test. I know you will do great, but since I cannot be there with you right now, I have tried to get some things together to help us. First, you need to know that, though I am not there, I am still here for you. You can always email me- there's a link on my Web page, or you can text me here : my Reading classes text @reaci to 81010 or for my English class text @8cheb to 81010. Also, I have a signed us up for a new web page that has some good practice things for the STAAR test - they will count as a grade for my English classes as well as enabling you to practice for your test. My Reading classes are free to use it during Individual reading time, but the majority of your grade will come from your regular computer program---start focusing better there;)
Please know that I am so sad to not be there with you, but I want to be there FOR you; please tell me how I can help you. I will try to find my way over to campus as soon as I am able- to at least check in and visit, but for now we are going to have to rely on technology to keep us working together.
As for my 6th period English class: Go to aisd.net and under student go to canvas. You will sign in the same way you log onto the computers. In the assignments page you will find a variety of choices of things to work on. There is also a discussion board that is going to start serving as our journal grade. If you have trouble signing in, the sub knows who to contact. I am sorry I am not there to meet my new students :( I will be back as soon as I am cleared (or before ;) lol ) If you have too much trouble with Canvas, try again tomorrow and go ahead and get to work here.
